My first idea was to find a way for me to fit into this car as a third person for a trip to Florida...
It was a great trip!!but a tight fit. I rode in the middle on a pillow placed over the transmission cover. We drove 1200 miles from Illinois to Texas(not planned), 1200 miles from Texas to Florida, raced the car in Vero Beach(planned), then 600 miles to Chattenooga,TN. We had to be towed the rest of the 600 miles home.

WHEN I found myself 'single' again, with a child and me to support,I had some very important lessons to learn. You can't have more outgoing than income - with finances!
I wasn't earning enough to provide for myself and my son. Changes had to be made! I had worked in almost any field you could name (politics, business, religious, education, medical, legal, food, farming)... jobs starting with waitressing to Administrative Assistant, but my current employment wasn't working out.
All that experience wasn't sufficient to acquire a job that would provide adequately. So I decided to start my own business.
My first task was to make money. My second task was to make money. My third task was to REALLY make money.
I figured I could take a page from the book of learning from my successful running of campaigns. I would translate that success into providing marketing for businesses in my mid-sized home town. At that time (early 1980's) the town knew "Advertising", but "Marketing" was usually when you went to the grocery store!
My first job came easy - the local Exchange Club needed someone to Administrate their annual Fishing Tournament. The members (men) needed to keep working, but this was their major fundraiser and someone had to do it.
I got a major sponsor, to provide money for T-Shirts, advertising, ..it was a great experience - and successful. (I used one item from this first experience to find one of my biggest clients as a Financial Consultant!)
Successful Ideas Include:

Fishing Tournament: Sponsors, Prizes including a IRocZ, Promotions
Historical Society Celebration Event:
Architectual Juried Presentations: Photography, Selection,

Finance: Successful Stock Broker/Insurance Agent for 13 years
